Behr IBM Watson

This project gets a mention due to its early adoption of an AI LLM at Behr. The idea evolved from something we had mulling around utilizing the THD/Behr in-store kiosks alerting users of weather conditions in local markets. During discussions with Weather.com on utilizing API’s we were introduced to IBM Watson Ads. That same year, 2018 we had launched Color Discovery a quick mood and style based survey with a smaller curated palette. Working with the Watson Ads team as well as our agency partner we combined the initiatives into Behr’s first AI Chatbot experience. Utilizing room, mood and style as its premise in addition to a library of color descriptions, IBM Watson chatbot performed a natural language conversation as well as a multiple choice selection, resulting into a suggested personalized palette for the end user.
